Instructions
Make the seasonings
- Using a mortar and pestle, grind up the seasonings.
Make popcorn
- Place the popcorn kernels and oil in a large microwave safe bowl and stir until each kernel is covered with oil. Cover the bowl with a vented lid. Alternatively, cover the bowl with parchment paper and secure with a rubber band, then poke a few holes with a knife.
- Microwave on high for 2 minutes or until the popping slows down to 1-2 seconds between pops.
- Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave. Let cool slightly, then toss popcorn with your preferred seasoning (or try all three of them!)
Notes
- Make sure you use a lid with a vent otherwise it might explode from the pressure build-up!
- Take care not to burn yourself when removing the bowl from the microwave as it will be very hot.
- If your seasonings aren't sticking to the popcorn, spray the popcorn lightly with cooking spray before tossing with seasoning. Another tip is to make sure the seasonings are ground up to a fine powder before tossing!
