Instructions
Prepare ingredients
- Cut beef into strips.
- In a bowl, mix together all ingredients for the marinade. Add beef strips and stir to ensure all the beef is coated thoroughly. Cover and let marinade in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Medium dice onion, cut broccolini into 2 inch pieces, and cut bell pepper into long thin strips.
- In a small bowl, mix together all ingredients for the sauce.
Cook
- In a large nonstick wok or large skillet, heat up 1 tsp oil over medium heat.
- Add onion and stir fry until translucent.
- Increase heat to high, then add marinated beef strips and stir-fry until just browned on the outside. It does not need to be completely cooked through yet. Remove beef from heat and set aside on a plate.
- Reduce heat back to medium. Add broccolini, bell pepper and a splash of water. Cover with a lid and let steam for 1-2 minutes or until the vegetables are cooked to desired tenderness.
- Stir the vegetables around to ensure all the water has evaporated. Add beef strips and sauce and quickly stir-fry until sauce has thickened slightly. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and sesame seeds and serve with steamed rice. Enjoy!
Notes
- This recipe is very versatile. Feel free to use whatever vegetables and cut of beef you like the most for this dish.
- I used light olive oil as cooking oil but you can use any neutral oil with a high smoking point such as rice bran oil, grapeseed oil etc.
- You may replace soy sauce with tamari.
- You may omit sriracha if you don't like spicy.
